I wanted to thank everyone for sharing their blogging inspiration, favorite magazines, and, for your kind words and encouragement about writing.
Someday, maybe I'll work at submitting something again. I guess I never considered myself a writer (I'm a better reader by far!) More than anything, I just found it fun to write about my adventures, and healing to write out my thoughts. Like most of you also said about yourselves, I never really thought anyone would even be interested in reading about my life with my spotted Appy pill!
I remember the first two horse blogs I ever read, Victoria's Teachings of the Horse and Callie's Midwest Horse Blog. I was so inspired and loved checking their blogs every day. I started blogging privately with a Freewebs site shortly there after, about a year ago, just for friends and family. I wasn't sure I could go public. It took me a long time to get up the nerve. I have since discovered that blogging is for anyone, from all walks of life. We all have stories to tell. And new friends to make.
As for you all, you'd better keep writing your stories so that I can keep reading them!

That's funny. 'Teachings of the Horse' was one of my first blogs to read, too. Before I even had my own horse! I was inspired, though.
ReplyDeleteAnd I've learned so much from reading other's blogs. And of course there are the shared interests, the tears, the mind altering discussions, and the manical, snorting laughter, too.
Who knew blogging would be so entertaining of an addiction er....escape..uh...hobby.
Oh, just plain fun!
I'm so glad you found my blog a while ago and posted a comment. I love visiting your blog, reading about your horse experiences, thoughts, ideas and even dreams of a handsome cowboy to carry you away (not too far away from the computer, now, k?).
Your Appy boy is such a handsome fella and is such fun to see photos of each time I stop by your blog.
Keep up the great writing as long as you enjoy it, because I know I don't speak for myself, when I say, "We all enjoy your blog, Pony Girl!"
I'm so glad you read my blog, and i really enjoy reading yours. It's really great to have this connection to so many horse lovers and to make friends all over the country and even around the globe. Caring about each other makes each one of us stronger and happier in our own world. Keep on writing and riding, Pony Girl!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading your blog and your adventures with that lovable Appy. Keep writing and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you decided to go public with your blog, I really enjoy it! Of course Appy's are my all time favorite horse breed and always will be! Keep writing Pony Girl, we love it!
ReplyDeleteWow! I don't know why it said I am anonymous Pony Girl, it's me, Midlife Mom!
ReplyDeleteHi Midlife Mom! You are so cute! It wouldn't be you with out Minnie there to the right! ;)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy reading your stories! Keep writing. Love your gorgeous Appy!
ReplyDeleteHe's worth a book!
Absolutely love your header photo. Perhaps I mentioned that before, but it is worth saying again ... Beautiful!
I love to read your stories. They are really upbeat and My Boy is a real treasure! I found teachings of the horse, too (but I couldn't read it b/c it would load...hmm). I hope that you can post your videos soon so we can see what My Boy looks like when he moves. Oh, and we horse lovers always like to see them a little more sausagey than skinny, so keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI meant to say it WOULDN'T LOAD...oops
ReplyDeleteand actually, scratch that entire thing about teachings of the horse, b/c I read victoria's page all the time....it's late what can I say?
ReplyDeleteAmen, sister. My first regular-check blog was Global Horse Culture, followed by Farmgirl Fare, then Scary's West... Before long, I knew I had to start my own, and The Barb Wire was born. Blogging is great therapy for we writers who don't have time to finish that novel!
ReplyDeleteYou are a terrific writer with a great sense of humor and you are so informative and I always love the pics.
ReplyDeleteBlogging is for everyone and such an addiction. I feel sorry for those that don't do it *S*.
I do my best to read as much as I can, but there are too many days that I don't get to, then I am playing ketchup far too often.
take care and happy horsin' around!
