I hadn't been into the Pottery Barn in a while, like over a year. But this cool zebra print ottoman was in a display with a yellow throw blanket and it just called my name.
Of course I had to wander around the store and along the way I found these great cowhide pillow covers. The hide on these was actually soft, something you might be able to actually rest your head upon! They were not cheap, but I could see them going on clearance.
Of course, when I got home I did some searching and found very similar towels at Bed, Bath and Beyond for half the price. So I could actually afford more than one bath towel.
SO where did my obsession with zebra prints came from.....goodness, heck if I know? I have always loved the look of some animal print infused into home decor- but just a smidgen. A picture frame here, a throw pillow here.
But oh Nellie, lookie here. How do you think My Boy would feel about this? Would I be taking this zebra print thing a little too far?
But this halter, it's doable, right?
Now these spur straps, goodness! These are cool! I am SO ordering these!!
P.S. Note to My Boy: No worries my pony, despite my latest fancy, I'm not getting any crazy ideas from the horse I saw at the fair last summer:
Hi there, thanks for stopping by! Love hearing from new friends! I grew up on a little appy quarter pony....he was my buddy. Yours....a beauty! Yes, Romeo (he's my man) is a Cremello on his papers anyway.....they said he looked more like a Perlino at first but since we gelded, they just left it. I like Pottery Barn....great finds! Those cowhide pillow covers...love...love...love! Looks like you have a great flair for decorating! Beautiful scenery behind you and great photograph of you and your guy! Yeah these headaches are a real pain! I've gone to the Dr. but they don't know why I get them. It's usually when a low pressure system goes through...sometimes hangs in the air for a while! My mom and sisters have them also. Unless you battle them, most people cannot relate. It looks like you live in a gorgeous area, there could be no bad days there! Have fun riding!
ReplyDeleteHi there! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your kind comments! I asked Kristen about her zebra rug and she said that she found it at T.J. Max, so that may be hit or miss for you. Great Pottery Barn finds-love that place. TGIF and off to look at your cool blog. Erin :)
ReplyDeleteGirl you crack me up! Look at you all Fashionista and everything! Are you straying from the barn diva we all know and love? Yes my Un-husband is pretty awesome. Maybe I need to "interview" him....Like maybe the Cowboy Bachelor! Hey I mighthave something there? hmmm this I must ponder...Great finds btw! I love PB!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post as usual. Love the last picture!
ReplyDeleteI love Pottery Barn--but haven't been in a while either. I've never even thought about Zebra prints until your post--but it could look kind of cool if it was matched the right way.
ReplyDeleteI am a leapord print girl myself, just a bit here and there. I understand the need to go wild!!
ReplyDeleteLove those pillows. They would look great in my living room...hmmmm.....
ReplyDeleteLOL-That stuff is all coming back "in"?? When Megan was a little one, I did her bedroom and bathroom in a jungle theme. We had(and still have it stored away somewhere) zebra print floor mats, leopard print shower curtains and jungle border. I sponge painted her walls a light cream and gold, so it looked like a faint leopard print too. I made animal print throw pillows and black sheer curtains with leopard print valances and placed potted plants all over. It sounds like a lot, but it ended up being very cute.
ReplyDeleteI did buy one of those halters too-although mine has leopard print rather than zebra. It looks awesome on a dun horse...and I have a few of those-LOL.
You go girl-let your wild side show!!;)
LOL you are funny! You wild jungle girl; it looks good.
ReplyDeleteGilly has a cream colored rope halter, hum, maybe I can randomly spray paint black strips on it to make it a zebra print. Would that look good on a bay horse???
Oh, yea, like you new banner...way cool!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Pottery barn sheet set that matches the towels are in my guestroom in the PNW and in my "queen" guestroom in the desert! They are like sleeping on butter they are so soft. My zebra print rug in the PNW that you featured in one of your blogs is also from the pottery barn. It was a display rug so I got it for a great price. It was to be for my office but I put it in the family room when Toby was crawling and my loving husband LIKED it! If you come down to the desert...you can sleep with the ZEBRA SHEETS!
ReplyDeleteLove the new header!
Wow, love your new animal stuff (those hide cushions....*sigh*!) Have a Happy Stripey weekend!
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine has a big zebra print area rug, it's super cool!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I'm not usually one for animal print, but I really like those cowhide pillows and the spur straps!

ReplyDeleteI think you need to get on down to see TrainWreck! :)
ReplyDeleteI Love the Zebra, but I think the boy won't like the blanket but the spur straps are way cool as well as the halter!
I think you should buy the spur straps you would definitely stand out! I also like the towels, did you go ahead and buy them at BB&B?
ReplyDeleteYou would get along well with my best friend, she also likes all things zebra!
We had someone offer to trade us a 1/2 zebra 1/2 horse for our longhorn steer. I never got to see him, but I bet he looks unusual with a few zebra strips. We didn't take the offer so...
Cute, cute stuff. I think that you would enjoy a "tarzan call doorbell." instead of ding dong, you get aahhheeyeallllll - you know the call. I really like the spur straps, but the zebra blanket for My Boy - if you think he is hard to catch now ...
ReplyDelete{Erin}~ Thanks for the tip on the rug! I shop TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc., all of the time. I love those discount shops. I'll keep my eyes peeled!
ReplyDelete{Heather}~ Half zebra, half horse? A "Zorse?" I think you should do a post on this. Most interesting! I guess I didn't realize that it was genetically possible.
I am checking the local BB&B for the towels on Sunday, on my way to see My Boy. Hopefully he won't mind if I stop and run a little errand! ;)
you think he is hard to catch now! wait til you come at him with a Zebra slinky lol. love the pillows though!
ReplyDeleteI love the pillows and the spur straps!
ReplyDeleteAnything horsey I love!
I almost bought a pair of zebra patterned Fat Baby's but I couldn't get past the pink ones that eventually came home with me.
ReplyDeleteStripes and spots? It could work!
Those spur straps are to die for!!! Love them!!!
ReplyDeletePottery Barn gives you some great decorating ideas, doesn't it???
Hope you are out enjoying My Boy in all of this glorious (and surprise!) sunshine today!! :)
I, too, love me some animal print. Yellow has a zebra sleezy that I just HAD to have! And of course, my darling significant other bought me my coveted giraffe hand bag! I might need some of those towels...I'll be talking to Trabis shortly!
ReplyDeleteHey there! You can definitely put my blog button on your site-thank you!!
ReplyDeleteI love zebra stipe prints!! My husband wants a zebra rug. I don't know where he thinks it's going to go???? I love animal "skin" style pillows too.
