It's in the Bag!

I was tagged by the South Dakota cowgirl at Whoa My Horses! blog for a tag game called "What Purse are You Carrying Now?" Be still my heart....who created this? How fun!!

Here's the rules:

  1. Post a picture of whatever bag you are using today - not last weekend when you and your hubby went out to that fabulous restaurant. No cheating!!!
  2. Tell us how much it cost. This is a no-judgment zone -- there will be no ridiculing or eye rolling here. And, if there is a story to go along with how you obtained it, I'd love to hear it.
  3. Then tag some friends.

I also noticed that other purse taggers had been showing what is inside their purse, so I will participate in that as well.

As you might remember, I got this great animal print cowgirl purse from my parents for Christmas.

This purse has no "brand name" on it anywhere. It was also a gift, so I have no idea how much it was!

This bag is a lot smaller than what I typically carry. Amazingly, my handbag is rather clutter-free, but you wouldn't think that from looking at my dining room table or kitchen counter!

The first thing in my bag is a black nylon faux Prada wallet. Sorry I do not have a picture, but for some reason I couldn't get a decent one and it is a typical black wallet.

Next up is my little red Blackberry curve. I got the BB last summer so that I could access my email quickly, and use the calendar feature so that I could be more organized.

I just noticed that you can see the reflection of my camera! A picture of My Boy is on the wallpaper screen, of course!

Ironically, I am still addicted to using this little plan book from the dollar store and have yet to set up my BB calendar! Umm, yes, I have a hard time with change.

Here is a cute notepad and pen set which I got at Barnes and Noble. Just in case I see a cute cowboy and want to write down his number. Yea, right!

{make-up bag}
I got this in Palm Springs a couple of years ago and it has held up well.

Here is what inside this little black bag on any give day.....

This is what I take 75% of the time I get a migraine and it usually works quickly.

{hand lotion}
I got this as a gift and love it, it makes my hands super soft and smells yummy, too!

{lip gloss}
My sister gave me a boxed gift set of like 15 lip glosses from Lancome for Christmas a few years ago, and this is the one I have been using the most, it's kind of basic and goes with everything.

{hand sanitizer}
This stuff is great for use after I pump gas, or before I eat at the mall...or anytime I feel I've touched something grubby and germy! But not my horse. Why is that? I never consider my horse grubby and germy, interestingly. Just humans!

Because it is winter, I can't be without gloves. Typically I have my favorite pair in my coat pocket, but this is just an extra little pair that I stash in my purse.

{bag balm}
This is my miracle goop! I get it at the co-op and have this small tin in my purse which I use for my lips. I also have a little tin in My Boy's tack tote to use for him. And a HUGE tin in my bathroom, which I use on my dry cracked fingers in the winter. It's heals them up quickly!

Other things floating around in the bottom of my handbag......

Whenever I feel like I'm getting the scratchy throat that accommodates a cold, I start popping these every 3-4 hours. I still get sick, but usually for a much shorter duration and I swear it keeps sinus infections at bay!

I bought these while on vacation because I loved the tin! Look at the quote on the top: knock out stubborn breath. Even when I am done with these mints, I plan to just refill the tin and keep using it because it is so darn fun!

Even though this is "tag, you're it," I'm tired and don't feel like running (hee hee), so I'm not going to tag anyone specific. But if you want to play, please let us know in the comments so we can stop by your blog and check out your handbag!!

Somehow, this post ended up turning into more of what's in the handbag, rather than about the handbag itself! On that note, My Boy wanted to play! Last spring, I did a post about what is in my grooming tote bag last spring. I posted a link to it on my sidebar.

Happy Friday everyone!

p.s. No, I am not crooked, I don't know why all of the objects in my photos are tilting to the left! Says something about my photography, I think!

  1. I want to wish you a belated Happy Birthday!

    I was away from my computer for a couple days, gasp! Anyway, I'm glad you had what sounded like a very nice birthday!

  2. I love this post, and I got tagged to do it too, now I just need to find the time!

    LOVE your bag sweetie!

    Have a beautiful weekend!

  3. WOWEEEE now this is a fun one!! I would like to play!! I got a gorgeous new bag for Christmas. You are the only person I know who carries udder balm in their bag! Speaking of bags, yours is to die for, love love love it!!

  4. Love your bag!!! Thanks for posting the contents...Im nosey like to see others things!

    Thanks for sharing!

  5. That's a lot of stuff crammed into that little purse!!! I expected you to have...mase!

  6. Bag balm or "savv" as we call it is amazing. It also works for wrinkles and wind burn.

  7. I think the tilt to the pictures give it character. I might do the handbag thing this weekend. It looks fun.

  8. I love the mint tin! And the tilt of the photos. ;o)

  9. And here I always thought those angled pics of My Boy were you being artistic... now we know the truth, you can't shoot a straight pic! lol (teasing of course)

  10. Wow, you bag has a lot less stuff in it than mine does... I'll have to take on the challenge and show ya'll! I drive a Jeep Wrangler though so rather than keeping stuff in the Jeep I drag it around with me. Don't ask me why I own a damn Jeep, it's annoying!

  11. I will do this tomorrow so check me out then

  12. Pony girl, wherefore art thou? You haven't sent me your addy for sending this prize...sheridesthatbigredhonda at yahoo dot com....

  13. I need some of those mints - for the tin, not my bad breath!! I love your purse.

  14. This is a fun entry!! I'm with ya on the Bag Balm and especially the Sanitizer! I use Purell so often my hands are dried up like a raisin. Funny thing like you say -I have no problem with animals and their's just humans and the things other people touch I can't handle! LOL.

  15. Good thing I have not been tagged for this one...I have a giant purse that is filled with lot's of "stuff!!"

    Happy belated birthday too!!!!

    I left you an award on my blog!

  17. I absolutely love your handbag and all the items you carry! I am thankful for excedrin!! And my red blackberry curve is one of my favorite items :)

  18. Bag Balm is the best! I first learned about it when I had my daughter and her pediatrician recommended it to prevent diaper rash. It's in my bag too. I love the little tin box.

  19. We have some things in common! I, too, cannot be without gloves in the winter -- I think I would sooner go without a coat than gloves! And Bag Balm!!! My goodness, that is just the stuff you MUST have around if you spend time outside and work with animals!

  20. Hey girly-girl. I gave you an award over yonder.

  21. Oh I love this tag!! It's so much fun!! My purse doubles as a diaper bag! It's always a mess!! LOL!! I love your purse!! It's so cool!!

    And I always sit with my head tilted to the left. I have had trainers that say, "Straighten your head!" Funky left tilt thing??? I didn't notice the pictures were all tilted!! Hee hee

  22. I can't wait to pop over and see everyone's purses! ;)

    I don't know if I tilt the camera, or what. I know that I don't like taking straight pictures...I love sideways pictures...being off kilter...but that series really showed me how overdone I've done it, LOL!

  23. I could never show the contents of my purse--what a terrible mess it is! I did enjoy taking a peek in yours. What a cute purse. :)

  24. Thank you for sharing , this looked like fun. If I read it a long time ago, I would have done it too... LOL
    I want me a tin like that!

I love hearing from my readers!! I truly enjoy all of your feedback, advice, helpful tips, and stories. You all make me laugh and I learn so much from you, too. I will try to post replies to your comments as often as I can.
