Her name is Jennifer MacNeill at Gypsy Mare studios http://gypsymare.blogspot.com/ not only is she an artist, she also paints pony for the "Trail of Painted Ponies" collection which I would love to start collecting. That is, if I ever move to bigger place!
Of course, you will totally understand why I chose the painted pony called "Native Son" to show you.......
I love the detail, even down to the muzzle mottling and striped hooves!
Now I know that the holidays are over, but I had to add this one because I thought it was so festive and reminded me a bit of My Boy's spotted equine friend, Cactus Jack Splash.Jennifer's site featuring the trail of painted ponies is amazing- http://jensponies.blogspot.com/. I think you surely find one that speaks to you. Do any of you have any of the ponies from the Trail collection?
Yes I do actually have quite a few of them. My husband buys me some each year as a Christmas gift. I have 9 of them and I love them. I will have to check out Jennifer's blog - thanks for pointing this out.
ReplyDeleteYes, she has some very nice things!~
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the Painted Ponies and have some horse pins.
That first one does look like My Boy. The other one reminded me of Jack too. I like the painted ponies, I have "Casino" to remind me of a special horse that shared our lives.
ReplyDeleteYes I do. I have "Cowpony".
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty cool. I saw the 'painted ponies' on exhibit a few years ago in Florida, some of them are very inventive.
ReplyDeleteI like the appy's they do look like My Boy and Cactus Jack.
Thanks for pointing out the blog, I'll check it out anyway, and hope I don't have to have anything.I'd love to have a collection too, but I've gotten to lazy to dust all that stuff.

I have quite a few of the painted ponies (20 or so, not sure of the exact number right now) But I don't have either of those.
ReplyDeleteThe first one definately looks like My Boy - so of course it is gorgeous :)
I only have one painted pony that I got for Christmas a few years ago from the in-laws. It doesn't look like any of the Appy's but I really like those and am now thinking I should start a collection.
ReplyDeleteMy man would kill me.
Just beautiful! Wow. I can see why you love this one.

They DO look like My Boy and Jack! I have visited her websites and had to sit on my hands! I don't collect the Painted Ponies, although I do find them appealing. After so many years of collecting marvelous and interesting things, I just don't need anything else that just sits around, collecting dust. I've got plenty already. I will be featuring some of it in future posts.
ReplyDeleteVery neat, will have to check her out! I don't have any!
ReplyDeleteThat really does look like "My Boy" maybe you could get royalties? I have seen those pretty ponies. I don't have any, but I have been tempted. I will check out your friends site.
ReplyDeleteI think my "photo" problem will have to be treated, dang it. I hate taking my computer in. Takes forever to get it back!
Girl what are you doing up soooo late! he he, I am drawn to blue eyed kitties! I noticed several other bloggers have cats that look really similar to my three. I will post their pictures tommorow, if I can keep my uploading working!(crossing my fingers!) Have a great week! Don't work too hard.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of Breyers from when I was a kid. I've been looking for a model that looks like my boy. I'll check out her site. :)
