The Birthday Cowgirl
Just back from Vegas....with stories still to tell, is my mom- the Coppperpony Cowgirl! And it is she who has a birthday today!
I have to tell you a funny story about my mom's birthday. For many, many years, I could not remember the date of her birthday. I knew it was between December 11-13th, I would just forget which exact date. Why is this? I have no idea. One of those weird phenomenons, like when you can't spell certain words. Like the fact that even though I won my Elementary School's spelling bee, on the word "astronaut", for many years, I spelled the word "restaurant" like "restraunt." (I just did it again and had to use spell-check to fix it.) My long-time childhood friend's mom's birthday is the on December 11th, and somehow that always confused me- I thought my mom's was the 12th, a day after hers.
Regardless, I think I finally have it down! I am so proud of you mom, for your perseverance and determination to become the rider you are! The love you have for your family, friends, and animals is amazing and admirable. Have a fabulous day, I hope you get some beautiful snow to go on a lovely walk in! I love you!
Now I can't say happy Birthday to my mother without saying it to my auntie, CowgirlJlynn. Because she is my mom's twin and they share the same birthday! You can see more pics of my mom and her twin sister here.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful Birthday post Pony Girl! My nieces are making CowgirlJlynn and I sweedish pancakes for breakfast, then it is off to work. See you soo. Love you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to say it is SO weird because I had the same issue with my Mom's birthday!! I knew it was between the 24th and 30th of November but could never remember the right date!! But then one year my Mom asked me to come out with her for the day (like it was any other) and it wasnt until she dropped me off at home that she said, "Oh, btw, it is my Birthday today!!" I felt sooooo horrible that her birth date has been engrained in my mind ever since!
Also, restauraunt SHOULD be spelled restraunt! I have never been able to get that one right either.
Happy Birthday Mom! Hope you have a fantastic day!

Happiest birthday wishes to your momma.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Copperpony!
ReplyDeleteHi Pony Girl! It is raining/snowing right now, a mix of a mess. At least it's warming up. By the way, it wasn't Swedish pancakes-it was Belgium waffles with strawberries, whipped cream, bacon and eggs. Your Mom had the wrong Country. It was dee-lish too! Yes they got to see their ponies. I guess every pipe at the barn is frozen though. Fun huh? Hope you had a great weekend!
ReplyDelete{Sares}~ Why would you want it to warm up? Don't you want it to snow? ;) Next to me, aren't you it's biggest fan??
ReplyDeleteOh.. it sounded like they had a wonderful time in Vegas, and to have such a great family.. wonderful! Happy late B'day to the Cowgirls!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your mom and her sister. They are an inspiration to us all!!! Your post is just beautiful - I bet your mom will treasure it forever!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tribute! I hope your Mom enjoyed her birthday.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your Mom and her sister! They share a birthday with my grandmother who is now 81 years young. Don't feel bad, I can't spell restaurant without spell check either.
ReplyDeleteIt's so great that the women in your family share such a close bond. Reading all of your blogs gives me the warm fuzzies - you are such a wonderful family!
