My dad (papa) made marionberry freezer jam, with extra sugar! He made 10 tubs of it and shared it with several family members.
This pink hydrangea has been in my family for ages. It was my great-grandmother's, I believe. At one time, it's blooms were blue. Maybe Dusty Devoe can share more history about this plant?
A family member, one of my second cousins, gets officially initiated as a "Pony Cousin!"
The Rosebud's son, Toby (my second cousin) finds simple joy playing with a big yellow balloon in a country field.
These two family members are the cutest couple and amazing gospel singers. When they sang at my great-grandmother's funeral a few years ago, I got goosebumps.

Yep, my family is pretty great. We are not without our faults, but we have a lot of love to give and truly enjoy spending time together.

ReplyDeleteLovely tribute to the ones who make your life so much richer! I love how close you all are. At the end of the day, it's the relationships that really matter!
ReplyDeleteGreat familiy pictures! Thanks for sharing... and about the hydrangea, it'll bloom blue if there is enough acid in the soil. So you can change the color of the blooms by adding soil supplements. Just FYI.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a happy Tuesday!
What can I say? Family is everything. I'll be glad when mine gets back to normal, or as normal as it gets!

You are so blessed to have a large extended family that enjoys spending time together (and gets to!)
ReplyDeleteOh, and about the hydrangeas - the colour of the blooms depends on the acidity of the soil.
Yum!!! That jam sure looks good! :)
ReplyDeleteI think that the older I get, the more important family becomes to me. I also regret not spending more time with loved ones who are no longer with us. There was so much I could have learned from them if I had only been still enough to listen....
Yup...I am going to make my grandkids scrambled eggs and toast tonight and crack open that new tub of jam your dad made and gave to us! yipee!!!
