Goodbye

I'm going to be taking a little blog vacation. I will return in a week or so.

You might have noticed that I have not been posting to my Pony Girl Pictures blog much recently. I am going to be combining that blog with this one. It was too much work doing the two blogs, mostly the loading and editing photos for them both. I want to post photos on this blogger in the larger size anyway, so by restyling my blog I will be able to do this. The photography posts will still happen, they'll just become part of this blog.

Blog makeovers are always exciting and scary. No major, crazy changes as I'm doing this on my own, I just want to clean it up and simplify, and design it to better reflect me and all of my varied creative interests. Like life, blogs tend to evolve and change as we're on the journey.

I have a lot of adventures and photos to share when I return, here are a few pictures to demonstrate what is in the works.

Hmmmm.........

See you all soon. Don't have too much fun without me!

  1. Whoa that scared me! Thought maybe you were burnt out on blogging or had bad experiences like some others and were pulling the plug on your blog. Glad its just a vacation & redecorating :)

  2. Yes sis, you did title this in a way that meant you were never coming back, but I have known what you have been planning! I can't wait to see the new "look"!!

  3. I look forward to following that spotted butt down the trail real soon!

  4. {Cdncowgirl}~ Sorry about the title, I guess I was feeling a bit dramatic, LOL! I like how you called it "redecorating"~ that is exactly what it will be! :)

  6. {BB}~ Okay, so what is a "real domain?" Like, you have your own web page and you own the name, instead of it being on blogger?

  7. Pony Girl, take all the time you need. We'll all be around when you get back. I took some time off from reading blogs after Rojo was killed. I'm still deeply upset about it, but am slowly pulling myself out from underneath the horrors of that experience.
I can't wait to read more about what you've been up to, too.

Oh and by thye way, I posted this message late on your mutant monkey post, but I don't want you to miss it, so just in case, here it is:

...it could have been a monkey...really! Are there any labs nearby?

Read my post from my other blog:
    http://twinville2.blogspot.com/2008/11/letterboxingmonkey-cave.html

    Here is some of it:
"In early 1973, scientists with Kirtland AFB conducted a series of experiments on a group of monkeys. They were strapped to chairs for five days at a time, testing their abilities to escape from painful shocks while subjected to increasingly higher levels of radiation.

In August 1973, all five of the the juvenile monkeys had had enough of the torture and made a break for it and escaped to the mountains east of Albuquerque. Once free in the Manzanos, the monkeys soon found the cave whose nickname would be their legacy. They swung happily from trees , scampered over the cliffs, and dined on juniper berries and prickly pears. They spent the chilly nights huddled together in the 25 ft deep cave, that was dug as a test pit, decades ago, by UNM Geology students.

Some of the local residents recall being surprised at seeing the monkeys, with shaved heads, running across South 14. Many other locals remember leaving bananas and other food for the monkeys.

In January 1974, UNM anthropology students began observing the monkeys as a 'mountain primate colony'. In February, Kirtland AFB gave the monkeys over to the university. Numerous attempts to capture the animals soon followed, since their road crossings threatened the safety of motorists, and since the growing monkeys had been wearing tight, chain collars when they escaped.

It was not until May of 1974 that the monkeys were finally rounded up using tranquilizers hidden in food. After being treated for frostbite, the monkeys were allegedly released into another, more isolated part of New Mexico."

  10. I need to redo mine as well, but I just don't feel like messing with it these days. I'm getting close to my 200th post, so maybe then. My problem is I know only enough HTML to get myself in trouble. If I could figure out how to do it in Dreamweaver, I'd have it made.

Have fun and see you after the blog-cation.

  13. Pony Girl - Is that an english saddle on your Boy? And, a beaded design on the table? What is up? Please don't loose the last photo of you riding your Boy in your blog. You are bending over your Boy loving him up. My mom and I always says how much we love that picture!! I think designing blogs and websites is so much fun! Not as fun as riding, though. Make sure you get some rides in on your week off!

  36. PG - yeah. No idea what to do with it... but I have bought a dot come domain which I hope to build something on (read, get my sister to build something on) which lets me put BIG photos up without having to recode each one.

Intrigued about the english saddle in last pic BTW.

  38. Good luck on your new blog design, I can't wait to see it. :) I like my new blog much better with the navigation bar at the top, and I cleaned up my sidebars to be less cluttered. I esp like how I segmented the blogs I follow.

    Have fun redecorating!

  39. I am so glad you found my blog, so I could find yours!! I just started riding again after about 30 years. I very briefly had a horse as a girl and 5 years ago took some lessons and now am up to owning 6 horses and doing my first reining competition this weekend! I hope you checked out my horse blog also. Have a good break! I'll be waiting for you to post again.

  40. I am so happy that you found me! Not that I talk about it on my blog, but I too have a horse. Granted, he came with the house, he is like a huge, brown dog, and I could definitely learn a LOT from you!
I look forward to your return and following along~
