Crazy

To say that things in my life have been crazy busy is an understatement......I have been pet-sitting for two different families, running back and forth between homes and starting up work again. And then, My Boy goes and kicks the wire fence, scraping and bloodying up his hind leg pretty bad. As Paint Girl's OH said, "Whatya trying to do, make matching scars to the other leg?" Geesh! I had to cancel his farrier appointment, and any plans to ride for a week or two.

This, on top of Paint Girl's lost kitty and her new exciting Mustang adoption news (which you can read about on her blog.) All of this sadness, excitement, and general hectic-ness (is that a word?) gave me the whopper of all migraines!

But hallelujah, its a new week....we'll see whats in store. Hopefully, a sense of routine and no more injured or lost animals, thank you very much! And please, please, no more walking through these every morning on the way to my car!

Seriously, despite a lack of affection for all things arachnid in general, I do feel kind of bad that I have repeatedly destroyed homes they have been up all night spinning! After three mornings of destruction, you'd think they'd have figured out it was time to pack up and relocate, yes?! No. They persevere and rebuild in the same place! You'd think I'd remember the web was there and try to avoid it the next morning, right? No again.

Anyway, I have more to share later this week. Like why oh why, would something like this pile of wood interest me?

  1. Interesting post. Can't wait to find out about the wood. So sorry about My Boy! Sure hope he heals up quickly. What was he doing, feeling frisky and kicking up his heels? gah!
Spiders...they're everywhere right now. Does the sight of spiders now signal the oncoming Autumn? Is this a sign that Halloween is around the corner?
Sure do love the kitty photo :)

  2. OOH girl, that wood interests your girls down here too. We have ALL kinds of ideas. I don't know if your Mom has filled you in on some of our plans, but we've been spinning some webs of our own. Including trips to the local thrift stores and antique shops. It may involve you too. I just haven't emailed because I don't want to type it all out. We'll talk next time you come. Hope work has been alright for you. I can't believe your sister got ANOTHER horse! Go figure!

  3. I've actually gotten to the point that I walk out in the dog yard, flailing my arms around my head so if I run into a web, it won't end up in my mouth!

Hmm, what do you want the wood for?

  5. I hope your Boy heals up quickly. We are sick of the spider webs here too. The doors to our house are always blocked, and poor Pie's head out on the trail gets covered - mine too - and then Mom and Sovey walk behind and have a clear path!
I think you must be making frames for your photography with that wood!

  6. Oh no, My boy is up to his antics again, getting all injured! I hope he is OK. It is NO FUN to see blood on a horse!!! Does he know you will take very good care of him? I bet he does! I wonder what he will think of the new baby who will be coming soon? Will he assume the role of the kindly uncle? I think your wood pile is for making lots of flower boxes so in the spring you will have daisies everywhere!!!

  10. I have wondered the same thing about spiders -- they build and re-build in the most bizarre spots! I hope My Boy heals up soon -- that wire fencing can be really dangerous. We have it around 3 sides of our pasture and I am always worried about an injury like that. Glad to hear it was not too serious!

  11. Hiya!

So sorry to hear of My Boys leg injury. Hope all was superficial. Was he playing to hard?
And a lost feline~ OH!Praying for it to return or be found soon.

My silly mare did just that fence thing too and got both legs in the wire and electric tape. Messed herself up and also was soo sore then messed me up, the next week. Been off for over a month...but am back on now.

Wood...good medium! Can't wait to see your pleasure with it!

  12. PS
I am the "wrecking crew" of the woods these days...with dangling spideys... they get relocated to unknown territories- as I fling them off me!
I try to wisp the crop-wand like a spell in the air, as I ride most times!

  17. Your silly boy was feeling his oats when he hurt his leg! It was feeding time, and all the horses were running and bucking, he ran up besides the fence, bucked really high, kicked his heels over the fence, than his legs came down on the fence as he was coming down, tore the fence off 2 fence posts! But he is doing much better. Horses always seem to get themselves into predicaments!
I hate spider webs, I do not understand how you can knock one down, and not even 2 minutes later they are back up again! I just don't get it!

  27. I can't stand them eight legged little guys either! At least I have yet to see a BIG guy, the barn spiders that roam southern barns...now those really get me going.

  33. My husband once walked through a web on our front porch. Less than fifteen seconds later he started trying to get the web off him. The web turned out to be hundreds and hundreds of baby spiders crawling all over him! Ahhh. I'm not scared of spiders, but I don't want hundreds all over my body.
